. To permit an LNG Export Site in the United States, an application is made to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The FERC is the lead agency that prepares an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and coordinates the permit approvals of the many stakeholders to include other federal agencies, state agencies, municipalities, communities and independent environmental groups.

Pointe LNG, LLC and Pointe Pipeline Company, LLC is proposing to construct and operate a liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility on a 600-acre site on the east bank of the Mississippi River, in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana.
