The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, know by it’s initials “FERC,” is in charge of the review and permitting of LNG export facilities in the United States. FERC will coordinate the permitting process with all federal, state and local agencies as well as interested public parties and stakeholders. The FERC permitting process is a great way to get involved.

Pointe LNG was authorized by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to begin the Pre-Filing Process in September 2018. Pre-filing is one option for beginning to move a project through FERC’s regulatory process. FERC will serve as the lead agency on the Project.

The Project team has and will continue to work with a variety of other agencies with regulatory authority, including: the U.S. Dept. of Transportation, U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ), the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (LDNR) and various agencies of both the State of Louisiana and Plaquemines Parish.

Pointe LNG is committed to working collaboratively with regulators, stakeholders and members of the community to gather input throughout the planning, construction and operation phases of the Project. We invite you to share your comments and suggestions about the Pointe LNG Project with the FERC.
